MEET THE TEAMDifferent strengths. One Known standard.
Every Known Healthcare Advocate is trained in the same core approach: take ownership, stay organized, communicate clearly, protect the client’s autonomy, and follow through.
What differs is where each person has particular depth. Some Advocates are especially strong inside insurance systems. Some excel in appointments and recurring care. Some are exceptional at coordinating many moving pieces over time. Others bring deep knowledge of public systems, recovery logistics, or written advocacy.
We match each assignment intentionally based on the work itself, relevant experience, availability, location, continuity, client preferences, and interpersonal fit.
You do not need to figure out who you need. Tell us what is happening. We handle the matching too.
Lauren Winick
-
Lauren founded Known after years of experiencing healthcare from both sides: as a psychotherapist and group practice owner, and as a lifelong patient navigating chronic illness, specialists, procedures, insurance systems, and the enormous amount of invisible work surrounding medical care.
That experience shaped the central idea behind Known: when a capable person takes real responsibility for part of the healthcare workload, the person receiving care gets some of their time, attention, and mental space back.
Lauren personally reviews every Known inquiry, determines fit and scope, and oversees client matching. She leads Known’s training, service standards, quality, and safety practices and serves as an escalation point when an assignment becomes more complicated than expected.
She built the company around a standard she knows personally matters: the people invited into someone’s healthcare should be extraordinarily reliable, thoughtful about boundaries, easy to be around, and very good at getting things done.
Nina Jamshidnejad
-
Nina excels when the problem is less about one appointment or one phone call and more about the accumulation of everything around care.
Her professional background spans psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, clinical leadership, healthcare administration, and care coordination. She brings a steady, thoughtful presence to situations involving multiple providers, recurring tasks, records, referrals, schedules, and ongoing communication.
Her particular strength is helping clients who need one consistent person holding the healthcare map.
Nina’s primary lane includes:
coordinating multiple specialists
tracking referrals, records, and follow-up
recurring administrative support
communication across a care team
organizing healthcare timelines
maintaining continuity during complicated periods of care
Nina is particularly well suited to clients whose healthcare has become a long list of moving pieces that no one person seems to be holding.
Sacha Moore
-
Sacha is at her best when she gets to know a client, understands how their care actually works, and keeps showing up.
Her background includes hospital-based social-service work, community advocacy, care coordination, and practical problem solving across healthcare, pharmacy, discharge planning, and everyday barriers to care.
She brings warmth, persistence, and a deeply practical instinct for one question: What needs to happen for this to actually work?
Sacha’s primary lane includes:
recurring appointments, infusions, and treatments
specialist visits and appointment accompaniment
pharmacy and discharge logistics
onsite problem solving
recurring healthcare administration
continuity across a series of visits
Whenever possible, Known keeps the same Advocate with recurring clients. Sacha is particularly well suited to relationships where familiarity itself makes the care experience easier.
Lisa Salzman
-
Lisa is exceptionally good at taking a situation that feels overwhelming and making it manageable.
Her experience spans recovery support, eating-disorder settings, operations, business development, and practical one-to-one work with people whose lives have become difficult to organize around illness, recovery, disability, or major transitions.
Lisa naturally sees beyond the appointment itself. She thinks about what still needs to be scheduled, picked up, prepared, organized, coordinated, or broken into smaller steps.
Lisa’s primary lane includes:
executive-functioning support around healthcare
post-procedure and recovery logistics
healthcare task organization and follow-up
recovery-related supplies and practical preparation
eating-disorder-informed practical support
appointment accompaniment and complex logistical projects
Lisa also supports Known’s partnerships and growth work, helping build relationships with providers and organizations whose clients may benefit from advocacy outside the clinical setting.
Peta-Gayle White
-
Peta-Gayle brings more than two decades of leadership and direct-service experience across some of New York City’s largest public systems.
Her career has included work across agencies including ACS, the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Education, the Department of Social Services, and the Department of Probation.
She understands something that is extraordinarily difficult to teach: how large systems actually move.
Peta-Gayle knows how to identify the real decision-maker, recognize a dead-end pathway before wasting hours on it, navigate systems strategically, and keep multiple resources moving at once.
Peta-Gayle’s primary lane includes:
Medicaid and public-benefit navigation
government and agency systems
disability and resource coordination
older-adult and caregiver logistics
complex multi-agency problems
insurance and benefits troubleshooting
She is particularly valuable when the answer technically exists somewhere—but finding the person, pathway, or combination of resources that will actually unlock it is the real work.
HOW THE TEAM WORKSOur clients benefit from the strengths of the whole Known team.
One primary Advocate keeps the relationship and the overall thread.
Behind that person is a team with very different areas of expertise.
A client managing a complicated healthcare transition might have Nina coordinating the overall project and serving as the consistent point person. If an insurance denial develops, Sarah can bring her appeals and written-advocacy expertise into that piece. If a public-benefits or agency problem emerges, Peta-Gayle can help map the bureaucracy and escalation pathway. If the plan needs practical execution on the ground, Lisa can step in around appointments, logistics, preparation, or outside services.
Sacha may provide continuity through recurring in-person care. Ky may be the right person beside someone during a series of difficult appointments.
Lauren oversees the architecture of the assignment and remains available when the work needs to be re-scoped or escalated.
The client does not have to recruit all of those people, explain the situation again, or coordinate their work. Known does.
That is part of what it means to us to have healthcare truly handled.
SMALL BY DESIGNWho you work with is extremely important to us.
Known is intentionally small.
Professional experience matters. So do judgment, reliability, discretion, organization, boundaries, persistence, and the ability to be genuinely easy to be around during a vulnerable day.
Every Advocate is trained in the Known model and supported by the broader team when something becomes complicated. Keeping the team intentionally small means we know each Advocate’s strengths, judgment, and way of working.
You will know who is working with you before the assignment begins.
For recurring and ongoing work, we prioritize continuity whenever reasonably possible.
